Our approach

One model. Six pillars.
Three simple steps.

We integrate the PERMA-V model of positive psychology into every class — giving participants practical tools to build happiness, resilience, and confidence. Here's how it comes together.

The six-week journey

From feeling to flourishing

Rather than teach six abstract concepts, we pair them into three two-week segments. Each segment builds on the last — a journey participants move through together.

1

Weeks 1–2

Feel & Focus

Positive EmotionEngagement

Participants learn to recognize and name big feelings, find calm through breath, and experience what it means to be fully present and engaged.

Participants practice: gratitude, emotional awareness, mindful breathing, flow, and joyful movement.

2

Weeks 3–4

Connect & Matter

RelationshipsMeaning

The focus shifts outward — building empathy, communication, and friendship — then inward, to discovering personal strengths and a sense of purpose.

Participants practice: partner yoga, active listening, kindness, nature mindfulness, and values exploration.

3

Weeks 5–6

Achieve & Thrive

AccomplishmentVitality

Participants celebrate effort and growth — learning that progress beats perfection — and discover how movement, rest, and breath power lifelong well-being.

Participants practice: goal-setting, growth mindset, energizing yoga, and self-care planning.

The MBC experience

Five pillars in every class

Developmentally tailored

Learning that meets each participant where they are, across every domain.

Accessible movement

Intentional, functional yoga adapted for every body.

Focused theming

Every session anchored in a PERMA-V positive psychology theme.

Nervous system care

Breathwork and regulation tools that work anywhere, at any age.

Off-the-mat tools

Positive psychology interventions that carry into daily life.

Inside a class

A predictable, regulating rhythm

Consistency is part of the care. Every session follows the same gentle arc, so participants always know what's coming next — a structure that supports regulation and belonging.

Each class opens and closes with a regulation check-in using visual aids, so participants can notice where their energy is and learn to shift it.

  1. Check-in — regulation check & a moment of gratitude
  2. Grounding — theme intro, breathwork, affirmations
  3. Movement — warm-up, sun salutations, mini flow
  4. Enhancement — movement game, mindfulness, or craft
  5. Peak pose — the climax of class, what we systematically worked toward
  6. Cool down — downregulation
  7. Rest — savasana with a breathing buddy
  8. Off the mat — a positive psychology intervention & take-home practice for the week

Our philosophy

Everyone moves in ways that feel safe, successful, and empowering.

Choice & autonomy

Flexible participation that honors how each person shows up that day.

Sensory-friendly

Visual schedules, communication supports, and adaptive movement throughout.

Strengths-first

Trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming — celebrating progress, not perfection.
